After an international bidding, Guangdong LNG Project chose Northwest Shelf Australia LNG Venture as the long-term gas supplier and awarded it a 25 year contract securing an annual gas supply of 3.7 million tons. This is the first LNG import contract in China.

 

The supplier consists of 7 partners: Shell, BP, Chevron,BHP (Astralia) ,Woodside (Shell and Australia cooperation), MiMY (3 Japanese companies' cooperation) and CNOOC.

 

The LNG Plant is located at Bala byland, 1260 km away from Perth, the capital of Western Australia.

 

The LNG carrier departs from Vesnier Bay of Dampier Port, Western Australia and, after a 2,770 sea miles journey, arrives at reception terminal berth at Chengtoujiao, Dapeng Byland in Shenzhen for unloading.

 

LNG shipment for the first 5 years during operation period of Guangdong LNG Project is provided by the supplier.

 
     
 
 

Guangdong LNG Project has brought along the development of shipbuilding and transportation industy to China.

 

Guangdong LNG Project has ordered 3 LNG cargoships in total from Shanghai Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Plant; the first-"Dapeng Sun" and second -"Dapeng Moon" have been delivered on April 3rd, 2008 and July 10th, 2008 respectively, while the third will be delivered by the end of 2009.
